Prendergast Estate

Weston, MA

About the Property
This property had been neglected for years. The new owners consulted and then contracted with us to restore this property to its former grandeur. The site was overgrown and lacked sunlight. I directed our arborists to selectively thin and prune the canopies of the stately white oaks to allow more light and improve air circulation. Renovation of the front and rear plantings were next on the list of tasks. Existing plantings were re-assigned to be better utilized on site. New plantings were added along with colorful perennials and ground covers. A new irrigation system was installed throughout the property.
“We were so thankful to have found Kevin. All of the other contractors we talked with wanted to cut down many of the trees on the property to get more light into our yard. Kevin saw the potential of thinning and pruning instead. Thank goodness we followed his advice. Kevin’s vision of what our house could be was inspiring. He walked us through the process, was there every day with his men and delivered on every promise he made. We are very happy with the work Kevin performed for us and would not hesitate to use him again.”

The rear patio was sagging and in disrepair. We removed and salvaged the 100- year-old slate, prepared a proper setting base and re-set the stone. We also expanded the original patio and added a lower level to increase the usability and flow from all the rooms in the rear of the home. The driveway at this property was in poor shape and was renovated with a country stone surface and cobblestone edging to restore the look and feel of a period estate.
